Carolyn E. Steinhauser Prize Application

The Carolyn Eyster Steinhauser Prize was created by the Women's Giving Circle of York County Community Foundation in 2017 to recognize the extraordinary contributions of its first Executive Director.
 
The award honors individuals whose contributions to communitybuilding in York County have been marked by singular excellence, reflecting Ms. Steinhauser's decades of effectively bringing the community together to address complex challenges.
 
Award and Nomination Information
  • The award includes a grant for $1,000, which awardees can direct to the nonprofit of their choice.
  • Nominees must be recommended by others.
  • The award may be conferred annually; at a minimum, it will be conferred at least once every two years.
  • Awardees will be recognized publicly. 
Selection Criteria
The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to:
  • Listen, engage, and do the research needed to clearly define systemic issues.
  • Bring the community together to confront complex and pressing community issues.
  • Amass the resources and assets necessary to drive the effort forward.
  • Assure that diverse perspectives are represented, and all are given serious consideration.
  • Use their leadership to effect positive community change that improves the lives of York County residents.
 
Nominations must be received no later than February 1, 2024.
